According to wholevehicles, Venezuela is located in the northern region of South America and has a total area of 882,050 square kilometers. It is bordered by Colombia to the west, Guyana to the east, Brazil to the south and the Caribbean Sea to the north. The country can be divided into three distinct geographic regions; a narrow coastal strip in the north, an extensive central plain and two mountain ranges that run parallel to each other in its south-east region. The coastal strip is made up of low-lying plains and mudflats that are subjected to severe flooding during rainy seasons. It also contains some of Venezuela’s most important cities such as Maracaibo, Valencia and Puerto Cabello. The central plain is home to most of Venezuela’s population where it stretches from the Caribbean coast all the way inland for about 500 km before meeting with Andes Mountains. This region comprises mostly flat terrain with some hills scattered throughout its landscape. To its south-east lies two mountain ranges; Sierra de Perijá which forms a natural border between Colombia and Venezuela and Cordillera de la Costa which runs along Venezuela’s entire northern coastline. These mountains contain some of Venezuela’s highest peaks such as Pico Bolívar, which stands at 4979 meters above sea level making it one of South Americas tallest peaks. The Venezuelan landscape also includes multiple rivers such as Orinoco, Caroni and Apure rivers which flow through different parts of the country providing essential water resources for agricultural activities and transportation routes connecting different parts of Venezuela with each other. Apart from these rivers, there are numerous smaller streams, lakes and swamps scattered throughout this diverse topography providing habitats for numerous species of flora and fauna found in this region. The climate here varies depending on geographical location with temperatures ranging from hot tropical climate along its coastal regions to temperate climates further inland towards its mountainous areas.
