According to wholevehicles, Somalia is located in the Horn of Africa and is bordered by Ethiopia to the west, Djibouti to the northwest, Kenya to the southwest, and the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean to its east and north respectively. The country is largely comprised of flat plains and plateaus with some mountain ranges in its northern region. The majority of Somalia’s landmass is desert or semi-desert terrain with small areas of grassland in its southern regions. The mountains are mainly concentrated near Somalia’s border with Ethiopia, reaching up to heights of around 2,450 meters (8,000 feet). In addition, Somalia has a series of rivers which flow through it including the Jubba River which originates in Ethiopia before entering Somalia and eventually emptying into the Indian Ocean. The climate in Somalia is hot and dry throughout most of the year. However, rainfall does occur during certain times such as April-June when monsoon rains bring moisture from the Gulf of Aden. During this time temperatures can drop significantly making it slightly more bearable than usual. Additionally, due to its location along the equator there is very little variation in temperature throughout the year. The highest temperatures usually reach around 30-35°C (86-95°F) while lows can drop down to around 20°C (68°F). See paulfootwear for weather information in Somalia.
