According to wholevehicles, Mexico is a large and diverse country, located in the southern portion of North America. It is bordered by the United States to the north, Guatemala and Belize to the southeast, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Geographically, Mexico is divided into five regions: The northern region consists of deserts and semi-arid plains, while the central region is made up of high plateaus and mountains. The southern region consists of tropical rainforests and mountains, while the eastern region contains tropical forests as well as coastal plains. Lastly, Mexico’s western coastline is characterized by long stretches of sandy beaches along its extensive coastline. Mexico’s climate can be divided into two seasons: a wet season from May to October and a dry season from November to April. During this time of year most of Mexico experiences warm temperatures with high humidity levels due to its proximity to both the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. In addition, during these months hurricanes can occur in parts of Mexico making it important for travelers to take caution when visiting during this period. During winter months temperatures cool down significantly in most regions with temperatures dropping as low as 0 degrees Celsius in areas such as Chihuahua or Durango in northern Mexico. The terrain across Mexico varies greatly from region to region with different elevations providing unique ecosystems for flora and fauna alike. For instance, in northern states such as Chihuahua or Coahuila you can find vast desert areas with cacti dotting the landscape while in southern states like Chiapas or Oaxaca you will find lush tropical rainforests teeming with wildlife such as jaguars, monkeys and toucans. In addition, there are several mountain ranges throughout Mexico including Pico de Orizaba (the highest peak at 5642 meters), Sierra Madre Occidental (spanning across northwestern states) and Sierra Madre Oriental (spanning across northeastern states).
