According to wholevehicles, Finland is a country in Northern Europe bordered by Sweden to the west, Norway to the north, and Russia to the east. The country is divided into six regions: Southwest Finland, Ostrobothnia, Central Finland, Päijät-Häme, Uusimaa and Åland Islands. The landmass of Finland consists of forests, lakes and rolling hills. The terrain is mostly flat with some hilly areas in the north. Forests cover about two-thirds of the landmass and are mainly composed of pine and spruce trees. There are over 188 000 lakes in Finland which represent 10% of its total area. The largest lake is Saimaa which covers 4 400 square kilometers. In addition to lakes and forests, there are also thousands of islands in Finnish waters making it one of the most water abundant countries in Europe. The climate in Finland is considered subarctic with cold winters and mild summers with temperatures ranging from -30°C to +30°C throughout the year. The northern part of Finland experiences arctic temperatures during winter while the southern part has a more moderate climate due to its closeness to the sea. Snowfall is common throughout winter months while spring brings heavy rain showers followed by summer sunshine which lasts until September when temperatures start cooling down again for wintertime weather conditions.
