According to wholevehicles, Chad is a landlocked country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Libya to the north, Sudan to the east, the Central African Republic to the south, Cameroon and Nigeria to the southwest, and Niger to the west. The terrain of Chad is primarily composed of a flat semi-desert region in the north that gradually rises into a savanna plateau in the center of the country. In the south are several mountain ranges including Mandara Mountains, Ouaddaï Highlands and Ennedi Plateau. The highest point in Chad is Emi Koussi which stands at 3,415 meters above sea level. The terrain of Chad is covered mostly with desert, steppes and mountains. The most prominent feature of this landscape is Lake Chad which lies on its western border with Niger and Nigeria. It’s one of Africa’s largest freshwater lakes and an important source of fish for local communities. There are also several rivers which flow through southern Chad from Lake Chad including Logone River and Chari River. These rivers are key sources of water for irrigating crops like cotton and sorghum which are important staples in Chad’s agricultural industry. In addition to its diverse terrain, Chad has an arid climate characterized by hot temperatures year round with very little rainfall during certain times of year like winter months when temperatures can drop as low as -5°C (23°F). During summer months temperatures can reach up to 40°C (104°F) making it very hot and dry during this time period. Despite these extreme conditions, there are still some regions that have enough rainfall for agriculture like along the banks of Lake Chad or in higher elevations where it rains more frequently than other areas due to altitude differences like at Ennedi Plateau or Ouaddaï Highlands where crops can still be grown successfully despite arid conditions elsewhere in country.
