The climate of Jakarta

Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia and is located in the northwest of the island of Java. With officially just under ten million inhabitants (but more than twenty million in the metropolis as a whole), Jakarta is the largest metropolis in Southeast Asia. In total, about ten percent of Indonesians live in or around this city. Jakarta has had several names, the most recent of which is Jakarta, until it was changed to Jakarta in 1972.

For Dutch tourists, Jakarta is mainly the start and/or end point of a tour through Indonesia. The country has so much more to offer than a busy city full of traffic jams that most only stay in Jakarta for one or two nights.
